Back in full force is Tom Clancy's hallmark realism and suspense in Rogue Spear, the sequel to PC Gamer's 1998 Action Game of the Year, Rainbow Six. Rogue Spear straddles the razor's edge, separating justice from the dark forces of geopolitical turmoil. It blends spine-tingling tactics and explosive action into intense counterterrorist warfare. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear crashes to the desktop. If Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear often crashes to the desktop, try to reduce quality of the graphics. It is possible that your PC just does not have enough performance and the game may not work correctly. It is a port of the classic game by Red Storm Entertainment: 'Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear'. The original engine was id Tech 3, aka 'The Quake 3 Engine'. It was later improved by the community, upon its open-source release, and became ioQuake3.
This fix only allows the game to run at the resolution of 640x480
Use the Rainbow Six 'Black Ops' custom installer (working on Windows 10)[4]
This is the easiest way to play this game on modern systems Rainbow Six: Black OpsAlternate link 1Alternate link 2 custom installer.
Notes
The version found at the 3D Shooter Legends website is outdated
This fixed version uses the same ddraw.dll as DDrawCompat, mentioned below, and will exhibit the same issues with corruption/black screen when alt-tabbing
Use DXGL[citation needed]
Download and install DXGL.
Add the game's executable to the application list.
Make sure the 'support all color depths' box is ticked in the DXGL Config program.
Use a DirectX 1-7 to OpenGL conversion wrapper[citation needed]
Download WineD3D For Windows (works with both version 1.7.52 and 1.9.19).
Extract the files named ddraw.dll, libwine.dll and wined3d.dll into the game directory folder in which the game executable is found.
Go to the game installation directory where you pasted the files ddraw.dll, libwine.dll, and wined3d.dll, and rename the 'ddraw.dll' file to 'ddfuk.dll'
Open RogueSpear.exe with a hex editor such as HxD.
Click on 'Search > Replace' or press Ctrl + R
Search for ddraw.dll and replace with ddfuk.dll and click replace all.
Save your changes by clicking 'File > save' or by pressing Ctrl + S
Notes
This fix allows the game to run in many screen resolutions including 1920x1080.
Tested on RogueSpear Gaming Ladder custom installer. Only works if the hex editing step is done.
Tested with ATI 4350, no version of Wine wrapper working with Black Ops regardless of font fix and edited executable. Worked on Nvidia 1070 Ti and Intel 620.
Alternatively, use DxWnd or dgVoodoo2 wrappers[citation needed]
Notes
DxWnd is a full featured wrapper. Issue with cursor drawing trails in Black Ops menus, otherwise perfectly playable.
DxWnd did not require the ATI font fix during testing.
Crash at start up in fullscreen mode[edit]
Use DDrawCompat[5]
Download ddraw.zip
Extract ddraw.dll into the game's installation directory
Notes
May exhibit artifacting when alt+tabbing the game
Wrapper has no configuration options, but does not produce Main-menu cursor trailing/flickering/ghosting as other fixes might
If used with a AMD 5700XT, CAS shader appears to work, AA and Anisotropic filtering can also be enabled via driver.

Music does not loop[edit]
Rogue Spear Windows 10
Fix CD audio not looping on Windows Vista and newer operating systems[citation needed]
Rip your game CD-ROM's music to MP3 format and place it in a folder on your computer.
Download patched _inmm.dll, and install it.
Patch RogueSpear.exe in <path-to-game> by dragging it onto _inmmconf.exe.
Open _inmmconf.exe and set DirectShow player for default file type in the method tab, as well as the MP3 type.
In the _inmm.ini tab, add the 14 audio files you have ripped. Make sure the order is correct, and then save it in <path-to-game>.

I'm trying to get Rogue Spear working on Windows 10 in full screen mode. I manage to get it working in windowed mode but then I can't change the resolution in game, it's locked to 640x480 and I have a 4K-screen. When I set Fullscreen=TRUE in regedit I get the following error in my Rommel.txt 'Reactivating! ColorToValue() : Unknown bit depth (32) DirectDrawSurface::ConvertRSB() : Unknown pixel desc' Same thing happens if I run windowed mode and uncheck reduced color mode 16-bit. I remember the game ran just fine in full screen mode on Windows 7 last year, I remember I had problems but I fixed it but I don't remember how. Raven Shield works perfectly on Windows 10! Im sure there is a solution. The weird thing is why can't I change the resolution in windowed mode? I've set a bigger resolution in the regedit, I don't check the 'Run in 640x480 screen resolution' yet I can't make the window bigger. Anyone have a solution? Ive tried every possible solution on the internet. Changing the font, compability settings, regedit, software rendering etc.
